1. Agreement and provider
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the PenFit Alarm iPhone app, wakebomb.com, and related services (the “Service”), provided by Komei Kinjo, Ogibashi, Koto City, Tokyo, Japan (“we,” “us,” or “our”). PenFit Alarm was previously called WakeBomb; the website and support email retain the wakebomb.com domain.
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains how information is handled; agreeing to these Terms is not a substitute for any separate consent required by law. Provider and purchase disclosures are in our Legal Notice.
2. Eligibility and app license
You must be at least 13 and legally able to enter this agreement. If you are below the age of legal majority, a parent or guardian must authorize and supervise your use where required. Higher local age or consent requirements apply.
The app is licensed, not sold. Apple's Standard End User License Agreement governs the app license, together with applicable App Store usage rules. These Terms describe PenFit's service and features and do not remove rights granted by Apple's agreement or mandatory law.
3. Alarms and device requirements
PenFit Alarm uses AlarmKit on compatible iPhones running iOS 26 or later. Alarm behavior depends on the device, iOS, permissions, battery, time zone, sound and volume, audio output, and system services. We cannot guarantee that an alarm, reminder, or blocking rule will work in every circumstance, including when a device is powered off, restarting, or otherwise unavailable.
Check your wake time, selected days, one-time or scheduled mode, sound, volume, and permissions before relying on an alarm. A repeating schedule applies to the selected weekdays; a one-time alarm is disabled after its occurrence is completed. Changing a normal alarm does not necessarily clear a penalty that has already been activated.
Use an independent backup alarm for important commitments or where a missed, delayed, or unexpected alarm could cause harm or significant loss. The Service is not an emergency, medical, or safety-critical alert system. Do not use an alarm or penalty where an unexpected sound could be unsafe.
4. Exercise missions and safety
Available missions include Walking, front-facing and side-view push-ups, Squat, Plank, Side Plank, Reverse Plank, and Wall Sit. Features and permitted goals depend on your access and the limits shown in the app. Pro currently supports up to 6 missions per alarm, including repeats of the same exercise; free alarm combinations are limited to one mission.
Camera and motion recognition are estimates, not a guarantee of correct form, exercise quality, or physical readiness. Camera angle, framing, lighting, clothing, occlusion, movement, and hardware can affect counts and hold times. The displayed result records app-detected progress and timing; it is not a clinical measurement.
Choose a safe area, a stable phone position, and a goal within your ability. Do not continue merely to satisfy a counter. Stop if you experience pain, dizziness, or discomfort. Seek appropriate professional advice if a health condition, injury, pregnancy, or other circumstance makes exercise uncertain. PenFit Alarm does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or personalized medical advice.
The standard wake-up scoring period is 30 minutes from the scheduled wake time. Missing that deadline can record failure and trigger your selected penalty. The scoring deadline does not itself stop an unfinished wake-up flow. Follow the completion flow shown in the app rather than assuming the alarm will end when time runs out.
5. Optional penalties
A penalty applies only when enabled for the relevant alarm. Review the selected type and requirements before saving:
- Penalty Mission: an additional exercise requirement after an unsuccessful wake-up, as shown in the app.
- Penalty Alarm: an additional alarm at a hidden random time inside the displayed later time window. The app selects an eligible window according to its rules and device state.
These are behavioral consequences, not monetary fines. They do not charge your payment method or create a debt.
Once a Penalty Alarm is active, the normal settings do not let you cancel or turn it off; it must be cleared through its alarm flow. Decide whether this is appropriate before enabling it, particularly for work, driving, travel, classes, shared spaces, or sensitive situations. Detection, activation, and sound remain subject to device and system limitations. Do not treat a penalty as a guaranteed enforcement mechanism.
6. Focus Mode and Hard Mode
Focus Mode uses Apple's Screen Time authorization to restrict your selected apps, categories, or websites during your chosen start and end times. Review the selected targets and times before enabling it. Permission changes and iOS behavior can affect protection. PenFit does not control the availability of third-party apps.
Hard Mode can restrict deletion of apps on the iPhone, not only deletion of PenFit Alarm. When active Penalty Alarms exist, the app may prevent turning Hard Mode off until those penalties are cleared. Review the in-app explanation before enabling it.
Do not block access needed for safety, health, work, or emergency communication. These tools support personal habits; they are not guaranteed parental controls or security systems.
7. Pro purchases, trials, and cancellation
Pro may be offered as an annual or monthly auto-renewing subscription or a one-time Lifetime purchase. Available products, included features, localized price, billing period, and applicable offers appear in the app and Apple's confirmation sheet before purchase. Product availability may vary by region.
Apple processes payment through your Apple Account. A subscription renews at the applicable price unless canceled in time under Apple's terms. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account subscription settings, including through the app's Manage Subscription option when available. Deleting or offloading the app, deleting data, or not using it does not cancel a subscription.
A free trial or introductory offer is available only to eligible accounts for eligible products, as determined by Apple and the purchase service. A prior trial or subscription in the same subscription group may make you ineligible even if it was canceled. Do not assume that reinstalling the app or restoring a purchase grants a new trial. The confirmed offer, duration, and subsequent price shown at purchase apply.
A trial subscription normally becomes paid unless you cancel before the applicable deadline. Apple's guidance is to cancel at least 24 hours before a free or discounted trial ends if you do not want to renew. Do not rely on a reminder from PenFit to avoid a charge. See Apple's cancellation instructions for your region and circumstances.
Lifetime is a one-time, non-consumable entitlement to the Pro features included in that product for the supported lifetime of PenFit Alarm, not a promise that the service, every future feature, or every device will be supported forever. It does not renew periodically. Any changes remain subject to your mandatory consumer rights and applicable commitments made at purchase.
Restore Purchases checks eligible purchases made with the same Apple Account. Activation or restoration may be delayed by a network or verification problem. When Pro ends, Pro-only features and future settings are subject to free-tier limits. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under its policies and applicable law. Contact support if valid access is not restored.
8. Unlock Points and individual mission uses
Unlock Points are in-app units, not currency, stored value, an investment, or a prize with cash value. They cannot be sold, redeemed for money, or transferred to another person. Supported device transfer for your own use does not turn them into a transferable currency.
In the standard release, the initial grant is 30 points and 10 points can be exchanged for one use of a selected Pro mission, not a permanent unlock or Pro membership. Eligible users can earn at most one point per day under the first-alarm-result rules shown in the app. An alarm with no mission does not earn a point, and active Pro access may change point-earning eligibility.
One-use access is consumed under the mission-use rules displayed in the app. Balances and use history are stored locally and can be lost if the device or its data is lost without a usable backup or transfer. We may adjust rules for future grants and exchanges with appropriate notice where required, without removing mandatory rights.
9. Your sounds, photos, and shared results
You retain rights in audio, photos, and text you provide. Use only content you have the right to use, and obtain any necessary consent from other people. We do not claim ownership of your content. You authorize only the processing needed for the features you choose, such as local playback, image composition, and encrypted device transfer.
Imported sounds and microphone recordings are stored locally and may be converted or trimmed to supported formats and limits. Imported audio currently supports up to 4 minutes, and new recordings up to 60 seconds. Check the resulting sound before using it as an alarm.
Sharing is optional. Review the preview for personal information and choose the destination yourself. The selected platform's rules apply after you share. We cannot withdraw copies downloaded or reposted by others and do not guarantee the availability or privacy settings of a sharing destination.
10. Device Transfer and your local data
Alarms and wake-up state are managed on your device. Optional Device Transfer moves supported history, reflections, points, available mission uses, and selected preferences through a client-encrypted package. It does not transfer alarm schedules, active wake-up sessions, Focus Mode selections, photos, or custom sounds. Recreate and verify alarms and permissions on your new iPhone. Restore Pro separately through Apple's purchase services.
A transfer expires after 7 days. Keep the code private: a person with it may be able to access the package. We do not hold the decryption key and cannot promise to recover a lost code or data that was never transferred. Transfer limits, network availability, verification, and expiry can prevent a transfer. It is not automatic backup or continuous synchronization.
Pro access across different operating systems (if supported)
If we offer transfers of Pro access between different operating systems, you must complete account linking in the app and link your purchase information while you can still access your old device, then sign in to the same PenFit account on your new device.
If linking has not been completed and we cannot verify the association between your account and purchase information, we may be unable to transfer your Pro access. This provision does not restrict purchase-restoration procedures offered by the purchasing store or your rights under applicable law.
These conditions apply only to supported cross-platform transfers. They do not mean that account linking or additional operating systems are currently supported, and they do not require a PenFit account to use Apple's existing Restore Purchases procedure.
11. Acceptable use and intellectual property
Do not use the Service unlawfully, infringe another person's rights, interfere with or overload its operation, gain unauthorized access, circumvent purchase or security controls, or exploit a defect to alter points or entitlements. Restrictions on reverse engineering or interoperability apply only to the extent permitted by law.
The app's software, design, brand, and supplied content belong to us or the relevant licensors. Your app license does not grant ownership of them. Third-party names shown in app selections or screenshots identify those services and do not imply an affiliation or endorsement.
The classical recordings of Bach's Air on the G String, Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, Mozart's Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Pachelbel's Canon in D, Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, Verdi's Requiem: Dies irae, and Vivaldi's The Four Seasons: Spring are provided by Classical Music Sound Library by ANDO TOWA under the Creative Commons Attribution 2.1 Japan License. PenFit Alarm uses edited and trimmed excerpts. Applicable third-party licenses continue to apply.
12. Updates, availability, and ending use
We may make proportionate changes needed for compatibility, security, legal compliance, or product operation. We may suspend or discontinue affected services where reasonably necessary, with notice where practicable and as required by law. Paid-user rights and remedies required by law remain unaffected.
We may restrict server access for material violations or credible security risks. You can stop using the Service, disable relevant features, and remove the app, subject to active protection settings. Cancel any subscription separately. Terms that must continue by their nature, such as accrued payment obligations and intellectual-property protections, survive termination.
13. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided as available, without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, accurate recognition, successful wake-up, improved health, or any particular habit outcome. Alarm, notification, and blocking limitations described above apply. These statements do not exclude statutory guarantees of conformity, reasonable care, or other non-excludable protections.
To the extent legally permitted, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses resulting from use or unavailability of the Service. Where a contractual cap is permitted, our total liability for a claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid for it during the 12 months before the event.
No exclusion or cap applies where prohibited by law, including to liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury where non-excludable, or other mandatory consumer remedies. Nothing here requires you to waive rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
14. Applicable law and changes
Japanese law governs these Terms, without displacing mandatory consumer protections or access to courts available in your country of residence. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining Terms continue to apply to the extent lawful.
We may update these Terms and will revise the date on this page. Material changes will receive additional notice or consent where required by law. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights. If you do not accept an applicable change, stop using the affected service and cancel future subscription renewals if appropriate.
